Mr Dave Wall is Chairperson of Colin Neighbourhood Partnership.
Speaking of his appointment Dave said:
"It’s a great pleasure and privilege to introduce myself to the residents of Colin as the new Chair of Colin Neighbourhood Partnership. I have admired the work of the Partnership and watched the great progress that has been made over the last 15 years. I am excited at the prospect of playing a small part in what I am sure will be further success.
I have had a longstanding interest and involvement in community development. In terms of my own experience, I began as a community worker many years ago in establishing the Law Centre in Belfast. I was Director of the Northern Ireland Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders when the organisation was heavily involved in developing policy recommendations for early release of prisoners leading up to the Good Friday Agreement. Subsequently I served for two years on the Sentence Review Commission that operationalised the release policies agreed as part of the Agreement.
From 2000 until I retired in 2015 I worked as a civil servant in the Department for Social Development. I led on policy matters that governed the support of the voluntary and community sector and latterly was Director of the Central Policy Unit for the Department. Whilst I am aware of the developments in Colin I do have a lot to learn. Once the Covid restrictions are relaxed I intend to get out and about to hear first-hand about the plans and priorities for the future. Whilst much has been done, there is still much to do; I hope I can help in achieving the progress that all of you who live in the Colin neighbourhood deserve."
Dr Jim Bradley is both the Vice Chair and Environmental Subgroup Representative on the CNP board. Dr Bradley is currently Manager at Belfast Hills Partnership.
