About the event
What to know more about how to spot misinformation and keep yourself (and others) safe and informed in this digital age? With so much access to often competing claims, it can be hard to know what information to trust.
Take back control and learn how to fact check information you see, read and hear.
FactCheck NI will facilitate this 2-hour introduction to Fact-Checking, which includes:
- An introduction to FactcheckNI
- What is fact checking?
- Critical thinking skills
- Fact checking tools – details of online tools we use when fact-checking
- How to spot bad information (e.g. conspiracy theory or genuine cover up?, recognising hate speech)
- Questions to ask yourself when dealing with information
- Q&A
This workshop is for adults age 18+. Very relevant for residents, parents, volunteers, youth and community workers and anyone keen to learn tools that empower people to be more accurately informed and safe in this digital world.
