The Colin Breastfeeding Group recently celebrated its 3rd birthday with a celebration event in Stewartstown Road Health Centre with local mums and babies.
The group, established by Colin Sure Start and Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, has been running every Monday in the Colin Community Hub for the past 3 years and has seen lots of mums and babies come and go over that time.
Mums and babies at the Colin Breastfeeding Group celebrate it's 3rd birthday
Group coordinator, Alice Caldwell, said of the celebration event: “The birthday celebration was a great opportunity for local mums and babies to come together, enjoy some birthday cake and healthy treats, and chat about what the group means to them. I would like to thank all the mums who have been part of the group in the past and those who currently come along to the group.”
“The breastfeeding group currently caters for up to 8 mums and babies in 1 session, which is mum and baby led. Mums come together each Monday morning from 11:00am to 12:30pm to breastfeed, pick up tips from each other, have a cuppa and chat and get to meet other local mums. A few times a year we bring in complementary therapies for mums and each month we have a Health Visitor who comes to weigh all the babies, this is always a happy time for the mums!”
