10th September 2019 is Suicide Prevention Day! Join us by coming together to “Walk and Talk” to raise awareness about suicide and its prevention in the wider community.
As well as being great for our physical health, walking and talking benefits our mental health. Walking and talking in a group can make us feel more connected to each other and help reduce loneliness and isolation. Walking can also improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.
This all-day event (10 am – 8 pm) will take place from the Michael Ferguson roundabout to McKinstry roundabout and back. You can join us at any time for any amount of time from 5 mins to an hour. It is a great opportunity for the wider community, local clubs and organisations to come together to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention. In addition, support groups will be available on the day to offer support and advice on suicide and mental health.
We hope that you will join us on the day to raise awareness of suicide prevention.
