Hours: 10 hours per week


Salary: £25,974 (Pro Rata)

Duration: Up to 30th June 2024


Aim:


Colin Neighbourhood Partnership (CNP) is a Neighbourhood Renewal organisation based in the Colin area of West Belfast. The Partnership consists of local people & organisations, elected & community representatives, and government bodies. CNP was set up by local people living and working in the Colin area who wanted to see positive change in their community. Today, all of these organisations work together in partnership to address issues which affect people living in the Colin neighbourhood.


CNP proactively initiates and manages a vast array of projects and initiatives covering arts and culture, community safety, environment, family support, and health and wellbeing.


Job purpose:


To support the development and delivery of Colin Green Spaces project. This project aims to engage the community in restoring green spaces in the Colin area of South West Belfast to increase their benefits for people and nature.


This role will include engaging a diverse range of groups in the local community in nature and conservation activities, including volunteering sessions, educational workshops, engagement events and awareness campaigns.


This role will suit someone who is passionate about nature and conservation and has a creative, flexible and inclusive approach to engaging communities in using and looking after local green spaces.


Main Responsibilities:


  • To support the recruitment and support of volunteers to participate in the restoration of Colin Green Spaces.

  • To support the organisation of programme events, initiatives, and workshops that: develop environmental awareness increase understanding of the benefits of engaging with nature e.g. for health and wellbeing, resilience, employability, etc. support people to develop the skills to look after these green spaces

  • To facilitate volunteer sessions and community workshops on the above themes.

  • To support the Training Coordinator/Volunteer Support in championing the project through communication campaigns and materials, including social media and printed materials such as the Colin News.

  • Support the Training Coordinator/Volunteer Support in monitoring and evaluating project activities, maintaining records of participants, volunteer tasks and hours etc.

  • Any other reasonable duties as may be required by the CNP Management Team and colleagues
