Colin Care is a company established to deliver quality care to those who need to be looked after in their own homes: primarily to the elderly and physically disabled who might need some assistance or support in meeting their daily needs.
The initial financial support for this company was secured from Lisburn Strategic Partnership and the Lisburn Health & Social Care Group.
This Domiciliary Care Service will focus on core values, which are: client focus, high performance with integrity, and professionalism.
It is this emphasis on values that ensures the company is able to attract and retain a highly motivated team of care staff who will uphold the standards, build the reputation of the service and therefore form long term partnerships with the various Health Trusts and our clients.
Colin Care has been set up as a social economy enterprise. In delivering excellence in a Domiciliary Care Service, high quality staff are recruited and trained to deliver a broad range of tasks and they strive to ensure that the service user’s needs are met, whether physical, psychological, emotional or spiritual.
An experienced manager, Phyllis McQuillan, has daily responsibility for the delivery of the service. In addition to recruiting and training care staff, Phyllis takes daily responsibility for ensuring that demanding quality care standards are consistently achieved and that the employees of the business deliver domiciliary care in accordance with Colin Care's core values. The Manager coaches and develops Team Leaders to ensure that domiciliary care is delivered while upholding the company’s values and in accordance with the Regulatory and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) and the Trust's requirements.
All profit made will be reinvested in the community, and will provide much needed quality employment, providing employees with higher levels of skill and experience that over time will enable them to develop a proper career path.
Speaking about the initiative, Colin Care’s Manager, Phyllis McQuillan, stated,
"This is a very exciting opportunity for people who have a strong interest in care to join a supportive company that will provide excellent training, support and a competitive salary, while still working locally and for the benefit of their local community”.
“The key thing to stress is that this business is built on the ethos of getting people with potential who are keen to develop, providing training and a supportive working environment, to ensure that a very high standard of care is delivered to all our clients – a level of care that our elderly and physically disabled deserve and of which we can be proud to deliver”.
The business has been supported by South Eastern and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT) and it is envisaged that over time Colin Care will become a major employer that provides a full range of care services across the spectrum.
“Our growth plans mean that we will be in a position to offer excellent career possibilities and I would encourage anyone, whether they have experience or not, to make contact to learn about the possibilities on offer”
